Here's a few towing tips you should always keep in mind, especially for this lovely hot summer!
1. Check Your Tire Pressure Frequently
High temperatures cause tire air pressure to rise, increasing the risk of a blowout. Before every trip, inspect all tires—including your trailer—and adjust as needed. Don’t forget your air suspension system too. The Bravo wireless air suspension kit lets you easily monitor and adjust your airbag pressure from your phone, keeping everything balanced and safe.
2. Test Brake Responsiveness Under Load
Summer towing adds stress to your braking system. Before hitting the highway, test your brakes at low speed. An uneven load can affect brake response time.
3. Monitor Engine Temperature
Long drives and steep inclines in the heat can quickly raise engine temps. An overloaded or unbalanced trailer makes it worse. These as well as the conditions can really affect your ride. Level your load on the fly to reduce strain on your powertrain and reducing the risk of overheating.
4. Keep Your Load Balanced
Proper weight distribution reduces sway, improves handling, and prevents suspension strain. A balanced setup starts with air support. The Bravo air management system allows precise control of your airbags, helping you maintain a level ride even with heavy or uneven loads.
5. Use Trailer Sway Control
Crosswinds and passing trucks can cause dangerous trailer sway, especially in summer. Keep your rig stable with a level towing setup. Our products make it easy to balance your truck’s stance, limiting sway and enhancing control.
Make sure you're constantly keeping up to date with these, making sure you're towing as safely as possible this summer and all year round! Happy Towing!
