Compressor does not build pressure at all. I can hear the electrical motor spinning but the compressor cannot build any pressure. What is the reason for this failure?
There are a couple of reasons for this type of compressor failure:
• Piston seal has been compromised, which means the piston is still moving, however the pressure cannot be build,
• Reed valves are broken, which means the compressor is building pressure momentarily, however the pressure cannot be contained due to the valves being broken
In a situation similar with the one described above you need to replace the compressor with a functional unit, and replace the inlet filter.
